Garden update
So, the daffodil bulbs I planted a few months back have made an appearance. Nothing amazing so far but the corner of the garden is going to look pretty colourful come the end of January. Looking forward to 2013!

True blood
Seriously addicted to the true blood book series. I would recommend this series to anyone (tv series isn't that bad either!) who likes a good read. They're £6.99 new but I've bought most of mine so far off eBay for around £2 each.

Baking with blackberries
I decided to bake a cake last Thursday to take to work for my colleagues the next day but it turned out to be a complete disaster. First the juice from the blackberries turned the cake mix grey, then I opened the oven door too early and the cake went flat. The end result is below, needless to say, I won't be baking with blackberries again for a while!

Early wedding plans
Came across these images of silk flower bouquets which means they can be kept forever! Potential colour theme? I think I may have to start a preparation scrapbook.

New shoes
First day on the shop floor today conducting a time and motion study. For health and safety I'm forced to wear steel toe capped boots but after one day I already have a blister on my heel! My poor feet will be raw by the time I'm done!

A very productive day
So, yesterday i planted the daffodill bulbs in the remains of the old pond. Even if nothing grows it looks like the chickens will have fun digging them up!
Me and the other half then popped to the Aldi 5 Million sale and found the most amazing wardrobe i've ever seen. Shame i wasn't allowed to buy it!! I was treated to a nice carvery with lovely view after though.
Finally, we stopped off at Makro's for the 'best buy', a giant angry bird. It will have it's own special place when we buy a house next year, until then it gets a front row seat in the van.
Happy weekend :)

Retro board games continued
I found another scrabble set today and also a rat race. I've never seen one of these before but can't wait to play it with the family (probably not with the other half though as he cheats at monopoly)! Can't believe the collection is growing already.

There are fish in my bath!
I have had a pond for around 10 years now. You can see the original was made from wood and looked a bit worse for wear so we decided a change was in order. As me and the other half plan to move out next year we decided on some temporary storage in the form of a bath! Overall it didn't work out too bad, finding out I'd lost 2 fish over the past year was a little sad though. Now there is a big empty patch in the garden which I'm going to plant daffodill bulbs in and wait for February bloom!

retro board games
Some months ago I found an old scrabble set in a charity shop and had to have it. Yesterday, walking past the same shop i found this monopoly set and I am now the proud owner!
I have now decided to start a retro board games collection. Next on the list is battleship.
